The annual Boys and Girls Club benefit “Jazz in Bastrop presented by St. David’s HealthCare” will be held Saturday, May 5 from 6:30 to 10 PM on the lake behind Lakeside Professional Building, 3101 Hwy. 71 East in Bastrop. This event always features some of the best jazz players in the world.Grammy winning guitar player, Eric Johnson will be jamming with the other musicians as well as playing a set featuring his own music with his bassist Chris Maresh and drummer Wayne Salzmann. Other artists include: Rick McRae (lead guitar for George Strait), Paul Glasse (mandolin), Alex Coke (sax and bass flute), Liz Morphis (vocals), Joe Grady Tuck’s daughter Hailey Tuck (vocals), Bastrop’s Grace Garne (keyboard) and many others. A Fender Stratocaster autographed by Eric Johnson will be sold via a live auction. The winner of the auction will get their picture taken with Eric and the guitar.Dinner is included and the food is always great.
