Bastrop, Texas Holiday Homes Tour
December 10, 2011
Noon to 5 p.m.

For five hours on Saturday, December 10, Bastrop throws open the doors on its annual Holiday Homes Tour, a central focus of Bastrop's four-day "Lost Pines Christmas" weekend.

Lost Pines ChristmasFor more than 30 years, the tour has showcased Bastrop's historical treasures; this year's tour features six of those treasures. Each structure reflects a unique piece of the history of Bastrop, founded in 1832 and serving as the gateway that led to the settlement of Texas, the founding of the Republic of Texas and statehood. Sites span architectural styles and periods and encompass both private and public structures, to form a composite image of Bastrop then and now.

The tour is a self-guided event, allowing visitors to see each location at their own pace. Docents will be on hand at each site to point out key features, to recount the structure's history and historical importance, and to answer questions.

Admission is $15 per person, payable in cash or by check only. Children under 12 are admitted free if accompanied by a ticketed adult. Ticket sales for Holiday Homes Tour begin November 7.
